Hi Everyone! Since my blog entry I have been just as busy working hard as ever!! I was thrilled to end 2009 with a bang! I had a totally awesome photo shoot with Jeff Smith of SmithMaxfield Photography and my "sister queens" from Massachusetts and Vermont. Neil Gannon, of La Tete Salon and my sponsor as Miss Connecticut USA, did gorgeous hair and makeup. We took beautiful holiday themed photos which will help me to always remember this holiday season as special. Next, I was asked to model in NECN Style Television's Winter Wonderland Fashion Show with Bloomingdale's at the brand new Fan Pier building in Boston. My incredibly awesome friend, Lacey, who just happens to be Miss MA USA, modeled with me. I'm still could not be happier that we get to experience this amazing year and Miss USA together! The styling and the furs at the show were just stunning. A few days after Christmas, I was invited down to speak with the mayor of my hometown, Ryan Bingham. We discussed some really great ways for me to give back in an extra special way this year to Torrington in particular, since I feel so compelled to because it is the community in which I was raised and has supported me throughout the years. In the Spring, I will be making several exciting appearances there so stay tuned for the details! I also had an interview with The Register Citizen, which did a very nice feature article on me winning the crown last month. On New Year's Eve, I traveled to the UCONN Health Center in Farmington, where I spent time visiting patients at the John Dempsey Hospital. It was truly my pleasure to bring some giggles and smiles to people's faces who were hospitalized throughout this holiday season. Lastly, my most recent adventure was to NYC to the gown showrooms to choose my Miss USA evening gown! It was any girl's dream come true and yes, I did find the "winning" one! Other than that, it will just have to stay a secret until Miss USA in April, so be sure to watch then! Best Wishes! ~Ashley
